SEF 2012

On 22-23 October 2012 it is time for the 9th annual SEF conference: “SharePoint and Exchange Forum 2012”!

The venue for this year’s event is the “Münchenbrygggeriet” in Stockholm, which is an old and very large brewery, which hosted Abba shows, and many other popular music groups. This is the largest conference in the Scandinavian area, focused on these Microsoft products: SharePoint, Exchange, Lync, and Office 365.

During these two days SEF will offer the most interesting seminars and world class speakers available today in these product areas. The majority of the SEF speakers are frequently engaged by Microsoft to speak at conferences like TechEd, SharePoint Conferences and PDC worldwide, and built their popular presentations on their extensive experiences of many and demanding real-world implementations. Most of these speakers are popular twitters, and also have very popular blogs, and many of them are authors of popular books in their fields. This ensures that you will learn something really valuable that you can use in your organization, not just something that in theoretically should work.

An equally important goal of SEF is to create opportunities for social networking between participants, speakers and exhibitors - we have perhaps the most lavish conference dinner offered at a conference in Sweden today: It includes three-course dinner, live entertainment and free bar. You will socialize in a relaxed and friendly environment, to make it easy for you to get new friends and valuable contacts, and to reconnect with old friends. Throughout the evening you also have a great opportunity to ask the speakers those questions you did not have a chance to ask during the seminar.

The conference content is focused on SharePoint, Office 365, Exchange and Lync, and integration with products like Office, Visio and MS Project. You will also learn about the upcoming versions of these products, including Windows 8 and Windows Phone (if we are allowed to talk about them). The level of the seminars varies from general to deep technical presentation, and the goal is that everyone, regardless of technical background, will find something that is interesting.

We have a carefully selected group of exhibitors that offer products or services around the products that SEF focus on, so take the chance to learn about new and smart products. They have special prices during the conference, and offers fun contests to win exciting prizes! The Gold-Sponsors will have a speaking slot at SEF, so take the opportunity to learn more about their product by attending their seminars.

Several authors will give away copies of their books, so take the chance to get a signed book directly from the author.

We all look forward to seeing you at this year’s SEF

Focus

IT-Pro (level 300-400)

IT Pros are responsible for the care and feeding of server farms, Web applications, Active Directory, Exchange and SQL Server. While many developers may also share these responsibilities and will learn from these sessions, they are mainly focused on the Best Practices for system administrators.

Developer (level 300-400)

Developers and designers have many similar responsibilities when it comes to working with SharePoint servers and other products, and many times are the same people. Because of this fact, there will be many sessions that will appeal to both developers and Web designers.

Information Worker (level 100-200)

Information Workers include business users, end users, site collection administrators, trainers, project managers and anyone who requires a firm understanding of the end user experience in SharePoint. Many administrators, developers, and designers will also find these sessions to be valuable in defining the Best Practices in areas such as site collection management, document management, and business process management.
